Episode 12: Can You Cement A Ghost?
March 16th, 2017 | Season 2 | 2 hrs 6 mins
hunks
We continue our journey through season 2 this week, covering No Exit, The Usual Suspects, and Crossroad Blues. In No Exit, Dean and Jo get uncomfortably close and then manage to answer the question "can you cement a ghost". Then, in The Usual Suspects, the little girl from The Exorcist is all grown up and has become a (pretty terrible) cop, and Sam & Dean leave yet another spirit out there for some other hunter to deal with. Finally, we go down south to visit a sexy and badly acted demon so we can sell our soul for podcast dollars.

Season 2 coverage continues as we delve into the next three episodes: "Bloodlust", "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things", and "Simon Said". In "Bloodlust", we meet yet another hunter with a troubled past and an El Camino. That's right, Gordon is here, and he be LURKIN. In "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things", a very creepy boy does a very creepy thing to get laid, causing Sam and Dean no end of grief (which they of course work out in healthy emotional dialogu-hahahah never mind it's Sam and Dean). Finally, in "Simon Said", we get yet another creepy asshole, this time with ~demon powers~ which, as you might imagine, causes Sam to freak out.

Season 2 coverage has officially started! We're covering two episodes this week, as is the norm for season openers: "In My Time of Dying", in which we pick up immediately after the cliffhanger ending of season 1. In the second episode, "Everybody Loves A Clown", we talk a LOT (and I do mean a capital L L-O-T), about the brothers' feelings after the emotional events in S02E01. That's right, Angsty Sam is here, and he won't be going away anytime soon. Deal with it!

This is it, everyone. The finale of season one. Things will be forever drastically altered from this point forward. This week we're only covering two episodes, but they're so good that we spend close to two hours talking about them. First up is "Salvation", in which Sam and Dean hook up with John Winchester to go after the demon, only to be abandoned (again) shortly afterwards. The second episode is "Devil's Trap", which is just incredible. It introduces a bunch of things to the lore of the show, and we finally have a showdown with the main villain: JOHN WINCHESTER!

On this episode we cover season 1, episodes 6, 7, and 8.
In episode 6, Skin, a shapeshifter implicates Sam's old friend in a pretty brutal murder. Which is fine, until the shifter goes and steals Dean's hunky flesh (definitely not fine) and plays the boys against each other. Then in episode 7, Hookman, Sam and Dean head to the local sorority house to snoop around in bedrooms and face off against the Hookman legend. And finally we have episode 8, Bugs, where the boys face off against, you guessed it, bugs, while also grappling with some serious brotherly drama. -
Episode 2: Bloody Mary Bloody Mary's Herself
January 5th, 2017 | Season 1 | 1 hr 46 mins

In Episode 3, Dead in the Water, Sam and Dean try and pretty much fail to stop a series of strange drownings that may be tied to a vengeful spirit. Then in episode 4, Phantom Traveler, the boys face off against a non-canon demon and try to perform an exorcism on a plane destined to crash. And finally in episode 5, Bloody Mary, the Winchesters come face to face with a well known urban legend, and the first of many secrets between the brothers is born.

Episode 1: Why Did You Shoot A Ghost?

Welcome to the first episode of Monster of the Week, a podcast dedicated to covering the...classic? tv show Supernatural. Your hosts are Jeremy Greer, Chris Mosher, and Stephen Veilleux. All three are big Supernatural fans, and have a lot of affection for the show. Not so much affection that they won't call it out on its ridiculousness, though, and believe: there is a LOT of ridiculousness. The first episode of the podcast covers the first two episodes of the show, "Pilot" and "Wendigo". Join our hosts as they talk about shipping people, exaggerating things, and the fandom business.
